The absurd and illusory quest for equality

I have been a Chartered Accountant since 1967 and proud of it.  However, I worry about a recent incursion by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAE&W) into the political arena.

The Institute has decreed that proposals to reform the child benefit system offend EU rules.  They argue that taxing middle-income residents could be discriminatory because UK citizens could be denied handouts which would remain available to citizens of European countries.

What a load of cobblers!
