I write this on my last day as the County Councillor for the Bloxham Division. When the results of polling are announced late on Friday 3 May 2013, I will no longer be Cllr Keith R Mitchell and the Bloxham Division will have been written into history.
One of my acts as Leader of the Council was to promote a small saving by down-sizing the council from 74 members to 63. the Boundary Commission then set about revising the boundaries and the result was that Adderbury, Bodicote and Milton will now form part of the Deddington Division, together with 11 other villages. Bloxham and Milcombe will form part of anew Division called Bloxham & Easington.
How do I feel? Quite elated. I loved my quarter century as a councillor, particularly the nearly 11 years as Leader of the Council but a change is good and I look forward to doing something different.
I am not retiring, simply opening a new page; in fact, several!
Dear Keith
Joanna forwarded on your blog, it is a really nice piece. I wish you all the very best in your next venture, it really will be the end of an OCC era with no Cllr Mitchell!
Best wishes
Maggie
