There are times when you stand by your friends, right or wrong and there are times when you leave them standing on the precipice. Today is the latter. Britain – with a “t” in the middle – is certainly not a quitter; we are not fearful and we take on challenges. However, the European Union is a failed and failing concept. The Eurozone is close to collapse and the concept of an ever closer union and a broadening membership is doomed to failure. We are much better off to leave before the EU does collapse and can set an example to other, more timid nations, to continue to challenge the direction of travel set by EU bureaucrats with their own interest in the immediate future and their job and pension prospects.
We need to regain control over our destiny and to unleash our economic potential by voting to leave in the referendum. Any other decision leaves us locked into an adventure that is bound to fail.
