The following is the contents of a leaflet pinned up around Adderbury. I cannot provide the original but this is a faithful reproduction.
Congratulations to the author for their wit and integrity!
To all readers of the Campaign to Save Adderbury
Having followed this website for the last year or so, I was wondering if there was any interest in my fellow readers getting together to discuss the major issues and hold some workshops.
I would like to suggest that the following items be considered for inclusion:
- What is the best “tin foil” to use when making hats to prevent Diane Bratt exercising her mind control over us? Also, what is the best design to use eg is a beanie better than a Peter Pan design?
- How much help can we give the editor of the web site in proving that the Adderbury Parish Council was complicit in the assassination of JFK and that the moon landings were faked?
- How to convince most of the village that putting anything as common as Football near Horn Hill Road residents is utter madness? Think of those poor
councillorsresidents of Horn Hill and how they would suffer.
Please post our views and ideas on http://www.saveadderbury.co.uk to make us all help make Adderbury a better place.
Dismissing football as ‘common’ strikes me as rather ignorant. I see in another posting you have also taken offence to the publicity of the LGBT community, who have >250 million members worldwide and as much right to promote themselves as anyone else.
Perhaps you should avoid sweeping generalisations that discredit mass proportions of society.
Yours sincerely,
Don Girthington
I am afraid you have misunderstood the reference to football. It was described as “common” and in a lot less friendly terms by a group opposing development at Milton Road, Adderbury. I have always supported including football on this land and my reference to “common” was intended to be critical of those opposing development.
As for the LGBT brigade, get on with it but please do not expect me to enthuse. I think people are entitled to privacy about their sexual proclivities and I do not want other people’s preferences shoved in my face.
Keith,
My apologies for the misunderstanding – your article had originally shocked me to my very core but thank you for clarifying.
I will try to refrain from shoving my sexual proclivities in your face.
Yours,
Don Girthington
No problem. The complexities of Adderbury local non-party-politics are impenetrable and your misunderstanding was entirely understandable.
