Cherwell District Council Planning Committee has today approved an application from Adderbury Parish Council for change of use of the 6 acre field on the north of Milton Road to the uses for which it was donated to the parish council, namely sports pitches and a community facility. Voting for approval was unanimous.
This permission is only for change of use and there will have to be a further application for the community facility with associated parking, access and whatever else is needed on this site. There is still a lot of work to do to establish need and willingness to pay for a variety of sports, social and community uses here. Although an indicative plan was part of this application, it may well change as research and planning progresses.
The parish council is being advised by a specially established group called Working For Adderbury Community (WFAC) who are planning to register as a charity and are organising fund raising events as well as consulting on village needs. Their remit extends to the Lucy Plackett recreation ground as well as to the Milton Road site.
